9x12" - Acrylic, Oil, Oil Pastel, Vinyl, Found Objects - 2009
This piece is a collaboration of my brother and mine. I brought an oil painting painted by my brother Joshua when I moved to Minneapolis from Atlanta. I didn't have any money, and needed a canvas to paint on, so I decided to paint atop what my brother had created. Did I feel guilty? Yes. This image was taken from a vintage magazine titled Man, Myth and Magic, which I had recently been introduced to, and depicts a witch socializing with a fish, enjoying cigarettes. This piece represents the psychic relationship between my brother and me that can never be severed.
